Amazon on specially organized event introduced two new tablets called the Kindle Fire HD. The main difference between the models is the diagonal of the display, which is 7 and 8.9-inch.
In the Kindle Fire HD 8.9inches uses IPS-matrix with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels and pixel density per inch – 254, so that the image on the screen looks very sharp. In the Kindle Fire HD 7 is also set IPS-matrix, but the resolution of the display is less – 1280 x 800 pixels.
Displays in both Kindle Fire HD tablets are produced in, when the touchpad is integrated into the matrix itself, so they have no air gap, which may further refract light, creating a glare. In the Amazon state that displays in the Kindle Fire HD glare by 25% less than last screen iPad.
In the Kindle Fire HD 8.9 installed system-on-a-chip OMAP4 4470 with a dual-core processor at 1.5 GHz and SGX 544 graphics performance, running at 384 MHz. In Kindle Fire HD 7 use two-core chip OMAP4 4460 with a 1.2 GHz processor and graphics SGX540. The amount of memory in the two plates is 1 GB, and built can be 16 or 32 GB. For Kindle Fire HD 8.9 configuration is also available with 64 GB of memory. Traditionally, Amazon does not equip their devices with memory cards.
Size of batteries in Kindle Fire HD is not confirmed by Company, claiming only that Kindle Fire HD 7 can run on a single charge 11 hours, but do not know under what load. For the 8.9-inch tablet autonomy and not reported.
Special attention during the presentation of the Amazon tablet is given to the possibility of the module Wi-Fi. In the release of of Kindle Fire HD 7 is scheduled for Sept. 14 for $ 199 for the version with 16 GB of memory. Kindle Fire HD 8.9 inch version will be offered with the same memory bit more expensive – $ 299 and the market will get only on November 20. Cost of Kindle Fire HD with 32 GB is $ 369. But in addition to these proposals, for $ 499 the company will also sell Fire HD 8.9 with integrated LTE and 32/64 GB of memory.
