AMD FirePro professional graphics line: Review & Specs

AMD announces official launch of the new line of FirePro professional graphics, with four models for desktop workstations W9000, W8000, W7000 and W5000.

AMD FirePro W9000

The new generation of professional graphics cards are based on AMD’s architecture Next Core Graphics made in technological processes of manufacture in 28 nanometers and feature image enhancement technology Unified Video Decoder, performance monitoring or improving consumer PowerTune ZeroCore.

The four models run the gamut in price / performance of professional graphics FirePro as you can see in the picture below:

These include the W9000 the most powerful professional graphics card, AMD, thanks to an improved chip XT Tahiti on the consumer version with graphics core speeds above 1 GHz, with 2048 stream processors and 6 GB of GDDR5 memory.

AMD FirePro Graphics series

This model is intended for high-end workstation exceeds 4 TFLOPS of performance in single precision calculation and 1 TFLOPS in double precision, and is capable of handling 1,950 million triangles per second. Like the rest of the series features a number of DisplayPort video inputs capable of handling up to six independent monitors via 30-inch Multi-Stream Transport (MST) with workspaces ultra-resolution up to 4096 x 2160 pixels.

The FirePro W9000, W8000, W7000 and W5000 are now available through distributors of AMD with respective prices of 3999, 1599, 899 and $ 599. Also come integrated workstations and assume in SuperMicro workstation from different manufacturers.

Also available are the graphic equivalent to the field notebook, AMD FirePro models M6000, M4000 and M2000 already offering manufacturers like HP and Dell in their new mobile workstations. Offered in the new systems from HP and Dell.
