As we know on AOSP Android update is available and android developer at Google confirmed something related to Motorola Xoom and Nexus S that these smart devices will not be updated to Android 4.2 and the owners have to compromise with Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean only as there is no Android 4.2 update for Nexus S & Motorola Xoom.

If talk about these two smart devices Nexus S and Motorola Xoom which are running on Android 4.1, due to old hardware specs and features they are struggling in running new software. On the other hand Jelly Bean Android 4.2 is clearly designed for the powerful and latest hardware devices, so there is no Android 4.2 update for Nexus S & Motorola Xoom.

You must be remember that when Nexus S was launched it was running on Android Gingerbread and then it was updated to Jelly Bean with time being and on other hand Xoom tab was launched with Honeycomb and later it received update of Jelly bean and ICS. Now it was turn for, Android 4.2 update for Motorola Xoom but due to limitation of power and hardware Xoom has compromise.

Android 4.2 contains a lot of new features as compare to Android 4.1 but owners of Nexus S and Xoom have not official choice but they can root their devices and install custom ROMs of Android 4.2.

Android 4.2 appears really quickly after the release of Android 4.1 the reason is simple Google wants to keep it race with the same pace but many Android users and manufacturer has to face issues regarding the updates.
