Asus 10.1-inch VivoBook featuring Windows 8 to be launched soon

Taiwanese company ASUS is in major news with its two notebook versions the 11-inch ASUS S400C VivoBook and the 14-inch S200 VivoBook. To add another feature in the cap the company is now planning to bring a new 10.1-inch VivoBook. The new model will be the latest in the ASUS brand of VivoBooks.

The ASUS VivoBook X102BA will look like a traditional clamshell laptop. ASUS this time has chosen the traditional design and has not gone in the tablet design way as in the Vivo Tab Smart Me400 and Vivo Tab RT models. The news of the new design flashed on the Swedish website, SweClockers.

Asus VivoBook 10.1 inch screen laptop

The ASUS VivoBook will be powered with a dual core AMD A4 1200 CPU with 2GM of RAM, 32 GB of hard drive and with a Radeon HD 8180 graphics card. These features look good for a 10.1-inch VivoBook, but it would have been better if ASUS could have fuelled in some more RAM in the VivoBook.

ASUS is going to provide two USB 2.0 ports, one USB 3.0 port, an HDMI, VGA, an SD card reader, Ethernet and a 3.5mm audio jack in the new model. Bluetooth and 802.11 b/g/n are also will be part of the new model so much to make the VivoBook a feature complete notebook.

The Swedish website, SweClockers, also quoted that the ASUS VivoBook will feature Windows 8 and will have both Microsoft Office Home & Student bundled together.

Release of ASUS VivoBook

Microsoft is releasing its Windows 8.1 OS during September. ASUS is also planning to release its new model during September which means it will soon be upgraded to Windows 8.1

The cost of the new ASUS VivoBook is presumably 330 euros which is approximately $440 in the USA. The exact release date and whether the model is going to be released worldwide is still not clear.
