Dell has announced the release a new family of monitors, Dell S-Series monitors, designed for home use.

This Dell S-Series monitor includes four models Dell: Dell S2240L (21.5 inches diagonal), S2340L (diagonal 23 inches), S2440L (diagonal 24 inches) and S2740L (diagonal 27 inches). And support image resolution of Full HD (1920×1080 pixels, 16:9 aspect ratio). New items including Dell S2240L are equipped with LED-backlit matrix. The model Dell S2440L uses a matrix VA, and in all other devices – matrix IPS. Both types of matrices provide a wide viewing angle – up to 178 degrees vertically and horizontally. All new monitors contain interfaces connect VGA and HDMI. The model Dell S2740L carries a port DVI-D (with HDCP) port and two USB 2.0. For the older model the maximum brightness is 270 cd/m2 and for others – 250 cd/m2. For all units the maximum static contrast ratio of 1000:1, the maximum dynamic contrast ratio – 8000000:1. New items have a thin frame, they can be used in configurations of multiple monitors. It is also noted that the monitors implemented new management features. In particular, in the mode Auto Mode can remember the color options that are appropriate to specific applications. For example, to run Internet Explorer, you can assign the startup mode multimedia. PowerNap feature allows you to save energy consumed by reducing the brightness of the image in the standby mode, or go into a “sleep” mode. Two older models – Dell S2440L and Dell S2740L – are also provided software Easy Arrange, which allows you to provide access to a variety of multimedia applications.
