Gamescom 2012 begins in the German city of Cologne fair game and entertainment Europe’s largest. An event held at the fairgrounds Cologne Exhibition Centre from 15 to 19 August.

Gamescom 2012 expected to exceed the numbers of the edition 2011 with 245,000 visitors, 550 exhibitors from 31 countries and more than 4,000 journalists covering the event.

In addition to gamers and interactive entertainment enthusiasts is expected the presence of 20,000 professionals in all types of conferences including the techniques of the Game Developers Conference Europe.

It confirmed the presence of major industry such as Sony, Capcom, Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, Konami, Square Enix, Namco Bandai or Blizzard in Gamescom 2012, but others are not relevant as Nintendo and Microsoft, at least directly.

As for games, expect to see the new SimCity, Dead Space 3, Crysis 3, Resident Evil 6, Lost Planet 3, Assassin’s Creed III, Far Cry 3, Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn, Fifa 2013, Grand Theft Auto V, The Settlers Online, Dishonored or The Last Of Us, among others.

Had also been rumoured announcement of Half-Life 3 and Dragon Age 3 but does not seem to end up coming to the fair in Cologne. Without the presence of Nintendo and Microsoft, the highest point of interest in gaming hardware that wants to be the Sony of the alleged PS3 Slim Super, although the Gamescom 2012 is more focused on software and large companies often announce new products at E3 in Los Angeles.
