Google Chromebook Pixel: Sleek machine for power users who live in cloud

Continuing with its Chromebook lineup Google has announced the Chromebook Pixel with mind boggling display. Featuring array of hardware specs the Chromebook pixel has a 12.85 inch screen with highest pixel density that is available in market. The screen resolution of the device is 2560×1700 screen (i.e. 4.3 million pixels) with a 3:2 aspect ratio. That means the Pixel’s screen will have pixel density of 239 pixels per inch. This will be a sleek machine that includes touchscreen supporting Windows 8.0. Obviously, these features and especially the screen resolution and aspect ratio surpass the Chromebook launched by Samsung and Google last year which we published in one of our article 4 months ago.

It runs on a cloud connected Chrome Operating system and has an Intel Core i5 processor with a free storage of 1TB on Google Drive for three years. This shows that Chromebook Pixel is basically aimed at power users who live in cloud.

The device has a Chrome backlight keyboard, in built 720p HD webcam and three microphones to provide sound voice quality. The screen has a 0.55mm layer of touch-enabled Gorilla Glass that gives smooth interactions while maintaining true picture quality.

As per Google this is going to be a very premium device. This looks obvious right from the piano hinge used, the rounded corners of the aluminum body and redesigned components. A third microphone is added to the device to cancel out the background noise as well as the suppressing the keyboard noise generated while typing. Google says, “the goal of the Pixel is to make the pixels disappear, giving people the best web experience.”

The price of the Chromebook Pixel is also in premium category. The basic version will cost around $1299. This is definitely going to be the best Chromebook on the market today.
