HP Folio 13 Professional: Review and Specs

HP Folio 13 is one of the professional Ultrabook. If you are looking for a professional ultrabook then it could be a great option for you but before buying this HP ultrabook you must know deep about it and below I have mentioned the review of this HP Folio 13 Professional ultrabook which would be guiding you.

HP Folio 13

The Ultrabook HP Professional Folio 13 has an exterior design restrained with aluminium in both its top and at the inner surface. Abounding in sobriety, no connectors on the front or the rear. It is placed in a ventilation grille which partly prevents the hot air exits at the bottom.

When you will open, you will found a fairly large keyboard for what is customary in this type of device with a seating area for dolls spacious and comfortable. Also, the keyboard is supported with backlit, making it possible to work in the dark without problems. Meanwhile, the touchpad comes with the traditional configuration, with no buttons.

In terms of connectivity, the HP Folio 13 is well served with two USB ports (one USB 3.0), one HDMI , Ethernet networking cable and memory card slot. It also has an input / output sound for headphones and microphone. In the field of wireless connections it also comes well equipped. It has Bluetooth 2.1 and wireless 802.11b/g/n MyWiFi technology from Intel.

The hinges felt in the test of this ultrabook were strong enough, but mostly the dock has adequate strength to a laptop that opened and closed many times (compared for example with a model more desktop use). It’s a minor detail but very well done.
Once you launch in other territories of the Ultrabook favorite: the starting speed aided by its excellent SSD, the boot takes only a few seconds. The time taken in booting is less than 30 seconds. The shutdown is even faster, about 15 seconds. That makes it unnecessary most of the time use the hibernate option (which in any case is off by default unless you opt for it in the BIOS).

HP Folio 13

The HP Folio 13 includes a processor Intel Core i5-2467 M and only one channel DDR3 memory. The former is justified by the attempt by HP engineers to squeeze the maximum autonomy of the team. Secondly, the only channel memory does not involve large differences in performance unless you’re talking about workstations that need to move large volumes of data.

The fact is that the HP Folio 13 is placed on performance in the middle of the table, near the equipment fitted with more powerful Intel Core i7. In regard to the performance of the disk drive, compensation is spectacular and in many cases conservative processor specifications.

HP has made significant sacrifices in design and choice of components: autonomy. It is fundamental to this type of computer, because if the light and compact design does not join a good autonomy of Ultrabook the concept becomes meaningless. In some tests its battery backup was observed as 5 hours with heavy use (video playback, WiFi, office tools, games) and up to 8 hours with low or moderate use. As we see, an excellent brand.

Another point that we really liked the HP Folio 13 is the low noise in operation. Even with the fan on is a sound that comes to disturb (important for a laptop that can be used in the dark). On the other hand (related to this) have also proven to be one of the Ultrabook more “cold” when working. Even after hours of intensive operation operating temperature never exceeds 65 or 70 degrees.

The low level of noise, no overheating, the excellent ergonomics of the keyboard, weight, content and other details make the Folio 13 Professional is one of the most comfortable laptops that we used. Coupled with the excellent autonomy make sense to charge the efforts of designers and engineers to get a laptop really designed for “road warriors” who have to use the computer often and in many situations, they need to be available soon and throughout a working day.
