iPhone 5 Review and Features

Today we have brought you another review regarding the latest iPhone 5 which was recently released and getting popularity. Still there are few countries which have received iPhone 5 and we hope this review will guide you through its pros, cons, design and its features. Not that in the sixth generation (recall: iPhone, iPhone 3G, iPhone 3GS, iPhone 4 and iPhone 4S precede) phone, Apple does not present much new, the problem was that most of them had advanced in numerous rumors that there in previous months.

Unboxing iPhone 5:

The box includes the iPhone 5, (this new iPhone comes in black and white graphite and silver color, depending on the model), the headphones EarPods inside a plastic box, the cable connector to USB Lightning, the USB power adapter and a small documentation.

iPhone 5 vs iPhone 4: So much has changed the design?

Every time Apple releases a new generation of iPhone, it is inevitable that the first thing to do media and users as compared to the previous model. Jumping iPhone 3GS to iPhone 4 was a design change if not radical, yes very important. Between the iPhone 4 and 4S little changed. Now, between the iPhone 4S and iPhone 5 external developments have been many.

Indeed, the iPhone 4 is still selling in the Apple website for 389 euros with 8 Gbytes of memory and the iPhone 4 also, but for 569 euros and with 16 Gbytes of storage capacity.

Design:

If you will see both iPhone 4S and iPhone 5, at first glance it is clear that the iPhone 5 screen is bigger (4 inches versus 3.5 inches).

It misses the headphone jack on the iPhone 5. Do not worry, it has moved exactly to the base, next to the new connector Lightning.

iPhone 5

Both screens are Retina Display, but the iPhone 4S is 3.5 inches with a resolution of 960 x 640 and 326 ppi, while the iPhone 5 is 4 inches with a resolution of 1,136 x 640 and 326 ppi.

Yes, the weight of the iPhone 5 is 112 grams (140 grams for 4S) and its thickness is less than 0.76 cm compared to 0.93 cm of the iPhone 4S. In the left side there are no changes.

The back of the two models is very different: in the iPhone 5 is anodized aluminium (for the most part, as in the upper and lower strip is glass so there is no reception problems with their antenna) and iPhone 4S is glass. It’s about taste, but is more resistant aluminium iPhone 5.
The iSight camera is the same: 8 megapixel, autofocus, touch approach, LED flash, backlit sensor, five-element lens, face detection, hybrid infrared filter, F/24 opening and panoramic photos.

Here we see a big change. Besides the iPhone 5 have the headphone jack on the bottom, we see the Lightning front connector 30 pin classic.

An important detail is the rounded edges of the iPhone 5 and that the glass does not protrude. This makes it more resistant to falling.
The accompanying EarPods control and integrated microphone and a box / plastic cover to transport and keep the copies without the classic mess of wires from other headphones. The ergonomics of the head we put into the ear has changed a lot. I think going for taste, we did not notice much difference, but there are others who are happy with the change.

The new connector Lightning’s iPhone 5 versus classic 30-pin 4S. By the way, Apple sells an adapter to 30-pin Lightning for $ 29. Has not yet come to this adapter Apple Store, but it seems that is coming soon.

Improved video stabilization

The video recording of the iPhone 4S and the iPhone 5 has not undergone many changes: in the two is at 1080p, 30 f / s, with a focus on touch and LED light, but changes in detail, in Apple say that stabilization has been improved and has face detection, and the ability to take pictures while recording.

We note that both smartphones offer great quality in detail in capturing color, either with good or with bad lighting. It is at this point that the iPhone 5 is above the iPhone 4S, as it captures more realistic colors, getting some oversaturation in dimly lit scenes. It is possible that this improvement is the result of both software and the new sapphire lens in a way that would allow better passage of light to the sensor.
If we compare to Galaxy Note II, although the technical specifications (8 megapixel, autofocus, touch approach, Flash LED, backlit sensor, five-element lens, face detection, hybrid infrared filter, open and panoramic pictures F/24) camera iSight ( Apple and flame) is equal for the iPhone 5 and the iPhone 4S, you’ll see that there is any difference.

Regarding the Galaxy Note II camera is identical to the Samsung Galaxy S III (8 megapixel LED flash), so it was perfect for tests, as the Samsung Galaxy S III and iPhone 5 are as Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, but in smartphones. Yes, the Galaxy Note II has a different focal aperture and the camera is located at a higher elevation than the Apple terminals, hence the illusion of different positions at the time of capture, but is in the same place and the same distance of the objects.

Our verdict is that the three cameras are high quality, but we note that the iPhone 5 captures more light in low light environments.

iPhone 5 Battery and other technological innovations

iPhone 5 has one key the A6 chip, replacing the iPhone 4S A5 (remember also that the iPhone 4 had a chip A4). Best of A6 is that is twice as fast as the A5 running apps (in the case of opening web pages depends entirely on the quality of our 3G or WiFi) and offers twice the graphics performance, an important detail for games last batch.

In addition, Apple boasts of having designed the A6 to make a more efficient use of the battery. Although the iPhone 5 has a bigger screen than the iPhone 4S (4 inches versus 3.5 inches) and therefore should offer less autonomy because we all know that the screen is the main “energy eater” in the smartphones, none of that.

According to official figures Apple iPhone 5 battery will allow up to 8 hours talk time on 3G, 8 hours of browsing on 3G (10 hours on WiFi) and 225 hours standby, all similar, even slightly better than, the iPhone 4S. After charging the battery of the two terminals at 100%, got to play the same in both the iPhone 5 and the iPhone 4S in full screen mode and loop four times, which added a time of 39 minutes.

Needless to say, both terminals run on iOS 6 and had been restored from the same iTunes account, but the first time we did not realize was activated and Bluetooth on the iPhone 4S. The result was that, after 39 minutes, the iPhone 5 still with 90% battery and iPhone 4S with 88%, i.e. a difference of 2%. Repeated the test and removing the iPhone 4S Bluetooth and this time the iPhone 5 again consume 90% and 89% iPhone 4S, i.e, we confirm that the battery of the iPhone 5 offers slightly better performance than the 4S.

Conclusions

Despite having a larger Retina display in iPhone 5, if you will hold in your hands you will find this smartphone as lightest.

We also have to talk about the new Lightning connector that replaces the traditional 30-pin. Apple says that its design of eight fully digital signal is better, more durable and above to be reversible it is not possible to connect it wrong. Clearly, Apple’s bet by Lightning because it has been integrated into the new versions of the iPad and the iPod touch and iPod nano, but has made a chore to those who had peripheral that connected via 30-pin.

As for our conclusions “pure and hard”, we must give the stamp of “Recommended Product” the iPhone 5. The iPhone 5 is a smartphone that will not disappoint who buy it, but if you own a 4S, once you upgrade to iOS 6, we recommend you stick with it, remains a fully valid terminal.
