Lenovo announced the next version of its Ideapad; the Ideapad Yoga 11S. It has almost all the features of other Ideapad Yoga laptops. However, Lenovo has brought in some key changes and improvements which everyone were looking for. When compared with Ideapad Yoga 11, the Ideapad Yoga 11S has a laptop-grade Ivy Bridge processor as against the ARM chip in Ideapad Yoga 11. This will make the Ideapad Yoga 11S more powerful in the Yoga laptop family. Another major difference with Ideapad Yoga 11 is that it will have Windows 8 instead of Windows RT. The design is same as other Yoga laptops. It will also have 4 modes; Laptop mode, Tablet mode, Tent mode and Stand mode. The design as well as the look and feel is going to be quite nice and in-line with other Yoga Ideapad. The keyboard touch is as smooth and soft as with any other Lenovo laptops. The screen fold features which makes the screen fold all the way around is kept the same, it works with the Laptop mode.
The Lenovo Ideapad Yoga 11 weighs 2.8lbs, but the Lenovo Ideapad Yoga 11S will weigh slightly more than that. The thickness is going to be 0.68 inch as compared to 0.61 inch. The Ideapad Yoga 11S will have 128GB of storage space and 8GB of RAM. The Ideapad Yoga 11 has 64GB of storage and 2GB of RAM. The Lenovo Ideapad Yoga 11S laptop will have a option to choose the processor upto a dual-core Core i5 CPU. There is certainly a great improvement in the screen display. The Ideapad Yoga 11S will have 1600 x 900 IPS screen as against its previous version Ideapad Yoga 11 with 1366 x 768 LCD display.
The battery life will continue to be 13 hours/ 4 cell battery. The connectivity is also kept same with 2 USB ports, 1 HDMI port and 2-in-1 SD/MMC card reader.
Lenovo has brought in good improvements over its previous version. These improvements were actually expected by the user community, surely they will be ready to pay slightly higher price as against the previous version. The sale price would be around $799. We will have to wait till June 2013 when Lenovo starts the sale of Ideapad Yoga 11S.
