HTC is trying to get ground in the lower/middle segment in Smartphone market with the announcement of its new HTC Desire U Smartphone.

So what are HTC Desire U Specs on offer for $275:

It comes with a1GHz processor, 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage space.
As you would expect in a Smartphone these days, it has a microSD expansion slot as well. There is a microUSB 2.0 connectivity port as well.

Connectivity options:

Bluetooth 4.0, 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi

HTC Desire U Camera and Display:

It has a 5-megapixel camera with an LED flash and autofocus. Maximum image resolution is the same as the display at WVGA (800 x 480). Display size is 4-inch. It’s powered by 1,650mAh as against 2000mAh for some of the middle range Smartphones we have reviewed lately.

The Desire U runs Android with HTC Sense.  Desire U seems like a continuation of Desire C smartphone.

HTC Desire U Smartphone release date:

Currently, it will be available in Taiwan. As per reports, worldwide launch would be later this year. So if you are in India or Europe/USA, you will have to wait to get your hand on HTC Desire U.
