In the 60 years of the last century, at the dawn of the Space Research, jumping from the stratosphere, such as the American project “Excelsior” and similar series of jumps performed in the Soviet Union, were vital for testing high-altitude suits, parachute systems, and of the procedure of the descent of man from space. Today, it is rather a challenge of own strength, the desire to step over the edge. One of the madmen who are ready to test themselves, Austrian skydiver Felix Baumgartner has made the leap from the edge of space.

Felix Baumgartner was in a sealed capsule project Red Bull Stratos lifted to 37 km, to make a record jump and overcome in a free fall speed of sound.
