Samsung’s WiFi-only Galaxy Camera Features and Pricing

A point-and-shoot Samsung Galaxy Camera is an Android based mobile device. Samsung announced the camera in August 2012 with the slogan “Camera. Reborn.”. Currently it is only available in 3G or 4G versions. Samsung is hoping to bring the price down with the WiFi-only version by getting rid of the mobile broadband radios and antennas.

So, news making headlines today is about launch of Samsung’s WiFi-only Galaxy Camera.

This new variant will have dual-band WiFi, and all of the same specs: 16.3MP sensor, 21x optical zoom, 4.8-inch back-facing display HD Super Clear Touch LCD, Android 4.1 Jelly Bean-powered, and a 1.4GHz quad-core processor.

This WiFi-only version was announced by Samsung back in February, which is now ready to hit US retailers, starting later this month.

Being a ‘smart camera (you know what I mean)’, you get lot of photographic flexibility as compared to smartphones. However, its worth noting that this camera will NOT double as your smartphone since it only has wifi connectiivity.

Price of Galaxy Camera would be $450. I’m not sure whether you are really enthused by this WiFi-only version of this device or rather wait something more. Do let me know.
