Announcement of the new Amazon tablet once again affected the market and forced competitors to react. For example, change in the characteristics of Kobo recently announced Kobo Arc.
Recall that initially this 7-inch Kobo Arc tablet was introduced in configurations with 8 or 16 GB of internal flash memory. But now Kobo has announced the launch of three models with 16, 32 and 64 GB of flash memory. The calculation in this case is simple – the maximum amount of storage in the Amazon Kindle Fire HD is 32 GB, the Kobo Arc – twice as much as that may persuade the buyer to purchase this particular device.
Characteristics at attractive alternatives, and coincide with Kindle Fire HD 7: 7-inch IPS-display with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels, dual-core SoC OMAP 4470 1.5 GHz, 1.3-megapixel front camera. Battery can provide up to 10 hours of active battery life of the tablet (with the unit turned off Wi-Fi) and up to two weeks – of standby time. Also of note stereo speakers are supporting SRS TruMedia, built-in microphone and OS Android 4.0. The company will release an upgrade to Android 4.1 Jelly Bean in the near future.
Kobo Arc appears to be available in November for $ 200, $ 250 and $ 300for a model with 16, 32 and 64 GB of flash memory, respectively.
