Qualcomm: the new Windows Phone 8 smartphones will be based on the Snapdragon S4 Plus CPU

After the announcement of the mobile platform Microsoft Windows Phone 8 has learned that Qualcomm has become the exclusive supplier of chips for mobile devices based on this platform. However, it was not known what kind of processor will be used in smart phones with Windows Phone 8.

Now the resource Engadget reports that the new devices will use the chip Snapdragon S4 Plus (MSM8960). Unfortunately, at this moment I only know that it will be a dual-core solution. More detailed specifications of the processor have not been disclosed. However, given that it belongs to the line of Snapdragon S4, you can expect it to be quite productive system-on-chip.
