Intel intends to use Sharp IGZO technology on screen in the new generation of Ultrabook and to overcome the quality and resolution of technology Retina Display used by Apple in the MacBook Pro.
The chip giant would be in talks with Sharp for a business alliance or even to enter its shareholders, in a troubled time for the Japanese company.
Intel would seek the jewel Sharp, technology of Sharp IGZO (Indium gallium zinc oxide) which allows panels thinner than typical LCD, lower power consumption, higher reaction rates and higher pixel density.
Higher density would allow resolutions of 2560 x 1600 pixels in 10-inch screens and spectacular 3840 x 2160 pixels in displays with 13.5 inch diagonal, beating the Apple MacBook Pro. Yes, in 13.5inches display resolution is 3840 x 2160 pixels is really massive, it is more than any display screen which is present in the market.
These Sharp IGZO panels could be available in the next generation of ultrabooks with new Intel Haswell chips as per the revealed information.
