Lenovo has announced the Lenovo IdeaCentre Horizon Table PC on Sunday at the CES in Las Vegas, the company’s first ‘interpersonal PC’, which is a multi-user, multi-touch, multi-mode device for the home that whole family can play and experience the personal computing experience.
The Horizon, as it is called, can be laid on any flat surface and allow two or more people to play interactive games and apps at the same time. The Lenovo IdeaCentre Horizon Table PC is designed for touch screen games using Windows 8 touch functionality. It is going to be a 27-inch full power PC loaded with 5000+ multi user entertainment apps, which includes gaming as well as educational apps enabling players from all ages to get a never seen before experience. Users can launch pre-loaded games or can download new games from online app store.
The Horizon Table PC comes with set of accessories including an e-dice and four joysticks and strikers with on screen action offering multiple players to challenge each other and raise the gaming experience bar to a new height. The actions can be either physical using the joysticks or can be digital, ‘phygital’ as Lenovo terms it. Horizon Table PC can recognize commands from as many as 10 fingers at a time. Wonderful! Isn’t it? The simple UI and a unique collaborative experience on Horizon Table PC will let people enjoy different photos, music and video on the same screen.
The Lenovo IdeaCentre Horizon Table PC has an impressive large backlit screen NVIDIA GeForce graphics making the contents looks smooth and eye pleasing. The screen angle can be changed to any angle and the height position can also be adjusted. The Horizon Table PC can also be mounted on a wall at 90 degrees and can be seen from virtually any angle. Horizon is powered by Intel® Core™ i7 processors to give a power pack performance.
The approximate weight of the Lenovo IdeaCentre Horizon Table PC is going to be 18lbs and it can be used as a television, a computer screen or a table PC.
Horizon Table PC Release:
Lenovo said that the Horizon Table PC would be in market by the middle of this year and the price would be in the range of $1700.
Lenovo also unveiled a 39-inch Table PC, called “Gamma”. It is still an early concept that will give an outstanding multi-user entertainment experiences such as a large screen can provide. We will keep on posting as we get more details on this model.
