TomTom will highlight its popular navigation system for Android devices. During the celebration of the IFA, TomTom will demonstrate this new version, which includes updated maps, a new improved navigation and effective technology applied to avoid traffic problems on our route.

The onboard maps on TomTom Android device IQ Routes, HD Traffic will give Android users the latest maps, the quickest routes and the most accurate arrival times. The application is scheduled for release in October 2012.

“Our goal is to make the content and services available to many TomTom devices and platforms as possible,” says Corinne Vigreux, Managing Director of TomTom. “Bringing TomTom navigation for Android smartphones is an important milestone for us.”

This announcement follows the recent release of the TomTom Car Kit Handsfree for smartphones. The kit allows users to charge your phone and mount it in sight. A built-in speaker delivers the best sound quality for calls and navigation instructions.
