Acer Aspire S7 11.6-inch Ultrabook: Specs & Features

Acer has announced its flagship ultrabook Acer Aspire S7 back in June of this year, and now it shows what is called live at IFA 2012. For two months the unit is not changed much in appearance and journalists The Verge managed to work a bit with an 11.6-inch prototype, and then shared their impressions.

Note that in the June photos (or rendering) the top of the notebook containing the insert made of plastic or glass. In the illustrated metal sample there, it’s probably only applies to 11.6 inches model. Acer has used aluminium and magnesium alloy casing Acer Aspire S7. The prototype is equipped with an 11.6-inch touch screen with glass Corning Gorilla Glass and a resolution of 1366×768 pixels. In the final product matrix resolution will be increased up to 1920×1080 pixels.

The device is very thin (12.5 mm), and the display hinge is very stiff, which is unusual for Acer laptops and good. The only caveat, noted journalist, is the sharp edges at the notch to open the display. At the core of ultrabooks really is the platform Intel Ivy Bridge, and specifically in the sample used a Core i7 processor with a frequency of 1.9 GHz and 4 GB of RAM.

Price of the Acer Aspire S7 device will be in the range of $ 1,000 to $ 1,800 depending on configuration, moreover the release date of this ultrabook is not yet revealed, so stay tuned for more updates.
