AMD introduced the Radeon HD 7970 graphics card GHz Edition

AMD has officially introduced a new model of discrete desktop graphics card, dubbed Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition. This new product is positioned as the most productive solution in the presence graphic world.

Some similar model was represented in December last year. But this novelty can boast up to higher operating frequencies, due to which it was possible to increase graphics productivity. Thus, the device includes a graphics processor Tahiti, which is made at 28-nanometer process-based architecture GCN (Graphics Core Next), 2048 stream processors, 128 texture units, 32 raster operations unit, and 3 GB of GDDR5 memory 384-bit bus access standards. The reference frequency of the GPU and memory values increased from 925 and 5500 MHz (Radeon HD 7970) to 1000/1050 (standard / high frequency) and 6000 MHz, respectively. To remove heat from the components of the video card it uses dual-slot cooler turbine. This model comes with two additional power connectors: one 8-pin and one 6-pin. The maximum power consumption of the device is about 250 W, as in the case of Radeon HD 7970. To connect a monitor designed interfaces DVI, HDMI port and two mini-Display Ports, a connection to the system by using the interface, PCI Express 3.0. The device offers support for DirectX 11.1, OpenCL 1.2, DirectCompute 11 Technology AMD CrossFireX, Eyefinity 2.0, HD3D, PowerPlay, PowerTune, ZeroCore Power.

It is expected that sales of Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition, made by partners AMD, will begin next week. The suggested retail price of the device is set at 1,000 USD.
