ARM Mali graphics chip brings new Mali T-600: Specs & Features

British designer ARM has presented at the SIGGRAPH 2012 the second generation graphics processing units Mali T-600, with three versions for smartphones, smart TV and tablets.

ARM Mali T600

The first two, Mali T624 and Mali T628 Mali are for mobile phones and smart TVs while Mali T-678 is reserved for electronic tablets.

The three new chips are an evolution of Midgard architecture, be made of technological processes of 28 and 32 nanometers and are compatible with RISC processors ARMv7 (Cortex A9 and A15) and the 64-bit ARMv8.

The T-624 may have one to four cores while the two most potent can integrate up to eight cores graphics. In front of the Mali-400 using for example the Galaxy S III in good yield, the new series offers at least 50 percent more performance than their counterparts as ARM, promising spectacular smartphones coming under these designs.

The series supports OpenGL ES 1.1 libraries, OpenGL ES 2.0, OpenGL ES 3.0, DirectX 11, OpenCL 1.1 and Google renderScript compute. It is not known when these designs include manufacturers among the huge number of members of ARM.
