You might want to take a look at the new ASUS new 4K Ultra HD monitor that ASUS is planning to unveil at the Computex event in Taiwan. You might be wondering what’s in it? Well, this is going to be a monstrous 31.5 inch screen size monitor with 4K Ultra HD (UHD) screen resolution. Most monitors in the market today supports Full HD resolutions at 1920×1080, but with UHD/4K televisions starting to emerge in the market, 4K is now becoming a new standard.
The ASUS PQ321 is a True 4K UHD monitor for your desktop display with stunning resolution of 3840 x 2160. ASUS has used the Indium Gallium Zinc Oxide (IGZO) for its LCD panel instead of the traditional Silicone mix. These panels support smaller transistors bringing smaller pixel onto the monitor. The IGZO technology also consumes less energy as compared to Silicon.
The 3840 x 2160 resolution is equivalent of four 1920 x 1080 Full HD displays stacked side-by-side. The monitor will have 16:9 aspect ratio and will support 10-bit RGB deep color for lively images. Getting ultra real images on your monitor is not longer a dream and will come into reality. The monitor has an interesting feature. You can tilt the monitor upside down allowing you to move the viewing angle along a 176-degree arc.
The ASUS monitor will ensure smoothness in the moving colorful images with the technology in-built. According to ASUS specs, the monitor delivers 140ppi and 350cd/m2 brightness, with an 8ms gray-to-gray response time. The thickness of the monitor is 35mm which will be the thinnest in the 4K UHD monitor range. The monitor has in-built 2 Watt stereo speakers so you do not have to get additional speakers next to the monitor. The monitor can be mounted on wall or can be placed on a stand which will provide full height and you can tilt the monitor in both the options.
The monitor has 2 HDMI port at the back side. ASUS has taken care that this is not going to be another high resolution TV in the market. The latest monitor is going to be a quality product and will change your viewing experience.
You will have to remember though that if you would like to play some visually intensive games on this monitor, you will need a high end graphics card to get the maximum out of this monitor. That means you have to shell extra bugs from your pocket.
It is expected that the ASUS latest monitor will be available in the USA towards the end of June this year. ASUS has not announced the price of the new product, but don’t expect the monitor to be cheap.
