Fujifilm FinePix F770 EXR is however one of the best compact ultra-zoom camera of the year with very good performance photo and pleasant grip.
This Fujifilm FinePix F770 EXR compact ultrazoom camera is quite efficient and provides good grip. The software interface is, in turn refine.
The promise
Fujifilm FinePix F770 EXR comes with a 20x zoom and a 16 megapixel sensor versatile, compact premium hunting land comes from Sony and Panasonic. The F770 is expertise of Fujifilm to refine its series.
Reality
Lightweight design, the Fujifilm FinePix F770 EXR is pretty well built. Even if it does not include materials such noble metal, the plastic shell is not “cheap”, which is a good point. As usual with the series F, upscale, Fujifilm has treated the curves of its camera, chasing angles in favor of organic lines.
Sensor controlled
This Fujifilm FinePix F770 EXR is featuring 16 megapixel BSI sensor, a statement that speaks to you may not be, but which is common to many compact cameras of 2012. This is a sensor, which Sony is probably at the origin, which embeds 16 million photosites. And as indicated by the “BSI” (for Back Side Illuminated), “backlit”, it is built for high sensitivity since this structure promotes better recovery of light. Fujifilm shows here that the control sensor: the colors are beautiful and detailed images without overwriting … details. Rising ISO is painless and is good up to 800 in 1600.
Good optical range
25-500 mm with a 20x zoom, the Fujifilm FinePix F770 EXR can cope with the vast majority of situations, ranging from very wide-angle to super zoom. Without being high-precision optics, the images are a little soft in the middle and the end of the zoom, the partition is quite well played with good optical stabilization: the pictures taken without flash in a museum are often clear even at low speeds (1/15).
Efforts to video
The sensor is good, the images are very suitable (color very fair), but the encoding of frames is not the most fluid and is developing patina really after zoom in, in certain situations, to lose really.
An honour for speed
2.5 seconds at start: without a little faster, the Fujifilm FinePix F770 EXR is the norm, with the sacrosanct seconds between each photo. Until then, it is a good average. However, the small tough is capable of capturing images in RAW (digital negative). If you are interested in this format, beware! Fujifilm does not know properly compress RAW (lossless compression), unlike SLR Canon and Nikon. The outcome is that each RAW image invariably weighs 24 MB and the aircraft came to rest approximately 6 seconds time to “digest” the photo.
The verdict
Nice and well finished, the Fujifilm FinePix F770 EXR is one of the best compact ultrazoom camera of the year. Its organic shape gives it a good grip and performances are very good in picture. Fujifilm, however, should review some software and ergonomics make some efforts in video. This was all about the Fujifilm FinePix F770 EXR camera which is available for € 330.
