The specs of the Huawei Ascend W1 smartphone are out. It is a 10.15 mm thin touchscreen phone powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon™ S4 MSM8230 dual-core 1.2 GHz processor and Adreno 305 GPU. The Huawei Ascend W1 smartphone will be available at least in 4 different colors including blue, red, black and white. It will have a 1950mAh battery giving approx. 470 hours of standby time. This will be the longest standby time offered by any of the smartphone in this class.
The Huawei Ascend W1 smartphone looks a very stylish phone weighs only 130g. It has a 4GB of RAM expandable upto 32GB with the help of microSD slot. It is a 3G EDGE phone with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth capabilities. The 4-inch IPS LCD touch screen is WVGA with 800 x 480 pixels resolution.
The Huawei Ascend W1 smartphone has both front and back facing cameras. It has 5MP rear facing camera and 0.3MP front facing camera. The Windows Phone 8 Start screen allows user to customise topics of their personal interest. It also allows user to pin Live Tiles of their interest, providing real-time updates. A dynamic lock screen function is provided on the Huawei Ascend W1 which allows user to select the photos and have them ready at a glance. This is possible even if the phone is in lock mode.
The recently launched black colour Huawei Ascend W1 is priced at ¥1,599 which is approximately $260. This will be the cheapest smarphone supporting Windows 8 in China. The phone is a combination of Huawei’s user-centric design philosophy and Windows Phone 8 software. This will give consumers an alternative to others smartphones in the market.
