The company LaCie updated its product line by adding LaCie d2 external hard drive the ultimate in connectivity and transfer rates. The new units are available with the storage capacity of 3 and 4 Tbytes and are available with USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt connectivity.
The hard drives LaCie d2 can perform at your best integrate avoiding the bottleneck of slow connections such as USB 2.0, as new protocols USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt promise a maximum transfer rate of 5 and 10 Gbps. These transfer rates are even the fastest for SSDs, but what we can confirm is that the performance will be very similar to that obtained working with hard drive installed internally in the computer.
The new model still looks designing with Neil Poulton, metal housing of 1.7 kilos of weight with a large blue LED. It has support for AES encryption and backup to the cloud via Wuala.
The prices of the new LaCie d2 3TB and 4TB are 299.95 and $ 399.95 respectively and can be purchased via the traditional channels.
