MediaTek will launch low-cost quad-core mobile CPUs

After the release of several models of cheap single – and dual-core mobile processors, the company MediaTek has decided to bring to market and more efficient chips for budget smartphones.


Thus, according to the resource China Times, the company intends to MediaTek will soon release its own cheap quad-core mobile processors. Mass production of such systems-on-a-chip is scheduled for the fourth quarter of this year. Detailed specifications of these decisions are not announced. We only know that they will be made at rates 28-nanometer manufacturing process.

It is expected that smartphones based on the new MediaTek quad-core processors will come to market in the first quarter of 2013. As Company is promising, “cheap microprocessors with quad-cores” then it may bring the new revolution in price range of smartphone. You can also expect a mid range smartphone powered with MediaTek quad-core processor and having a cheap price.
