Nexus 7 over clocked to 2 GHz CPU, GPU at 650 MHz: ROM

Our ‘chefs’ favorite xda-developers have prepared a ROM with a new kernel that allows overclocking the processor quad core NVIDIA Tegra 3 SoC to 2 GHz and GPU above 650 MHz. This processing speed can bring the water in mouth of any of the smart device fan. Of course, this is the damn news and capability of Google Nexus 7.

For now is a experimental kernel still requires work and is not suitable for ‘everyday’ but showing the potential of Google’s tablet manufactured by ASUS, on sale today through Google Play.

You know that NVIDIA Tegra 3 offers multiple manufacturers and different solutions but not all are equal and SoC installed by ASUS in the Nexus 7 is the most modest (price and battery life force) with CPU frequency at 1.3 GHz with the new kernel the device is over 8,000 points in the Quadrant test, twice as powerful One X or tablet ASUS Transformer Prime TF201.

The Overclocking ROM for Nexus 7 is not public yet but the developer offers another CPU with 1.8 GHz and 650 MHz GPU tests only with due caution and because it can ‘fry’ your brand new Nexus 7 available at this link.

So, this new Overclocking ROM for Nexus 7 has increased the scope of Nexus 7, and no doubt this tablet from Google and ASUS is one of the hot tablet available in the market, moreover, there is also no doubt its price is the reason behind it.
