Olympus has announced the expansion of the model range PEN series of digital cameras due to the release of two new devices Olympus PEN E-PL5 and Olympus PEN E-PM2 standard Micro Four Thirds. Model PEN E-PL5 is a more functional solution, while the device PEN E-PM2-oriented to fans of ultra compact cameras.

Both presented cameras Olympus PEN E-PL5 and Olympus PEN E-PM2 use the same 16.1-megapixel sensor High-Speed Live MOS, graphics processor TruePic VI and 3-inch touchscreen LCD display with a resolution of 460 thousand pixels, providing 176-degree viewing angles. Moreover, the model PEN E-PL5 display supports rotation of 170 degrees up and 65 degrees down. Another feature of this camera is the use of a removable holder. The new device has an optical image stabilization, autofocus system the FAST (Frequency Acceleration Sensor Technology), focusing function by touching the desired object to the image on the display Touch AF Shutter, creative filters and processing RAW images for editing by the camera.

In Olympus PEN E-PL5 and Olympus PEN E-PM2 cameras you can increase the sensitivity up to ISO 25600, to carry out continuous shooting images at up to 8 frames per second. You are also able to record video in Full HD resolution of 1920×1080 pixels at 30 frames per second. Model PEN E-PL5 additionally boasts support function Movie Teleconverter, which allows for zooming when shooting video up to 4x with no image degradation. To store the footage can be used memory cards SD / SDHC / SDXC, also officially supports the memory card Eye-Fi.

The Olympus PEN E-PL5 and Olympus PEN E-PM2 device are not equipped with built-in flash, but in the scope of supply includes their external flash FL-LM1, switched via the hot shoe.
