This top model ultrabook Toshiba Portege Z930 10T 13.3-inch (33.8 cm diagonal) is thought to nomads even for professionals. It is thin, lightweight and holds more than 4 hours of video playback. Its backlit keyboard and matte tile are more real.

The promise
Manufacturer’s ultrabooks decline their references to attack several price segments. Toshiba Portégé Z930 with is no exception to the rule. The second, the Toshiba Portege Z930 10T more affordable (count still 999 euros!).
Reality
The Toshiba Portege Z930 10T is much more affordable than its big brother, the Z930-102. Good point, the magnesium alloy chassis does not change. We also find the 13.3-inch matte screen, the backlit keyboard, the wide touchpad and fingerprint reader. The weight and thickness change not one iota: 1.1 kg and 1.9 cm. Side of the connector, three USB ports (two USB 2.0, one USB 3.0), two video outputs and a network jack full format (no adapter needed) are present on the sides or back of the ultrabook. For communication and exchange wireless modules Wi-Fi n and Bluetooth 4.0 present. In Video playback, the Toshiba Portege Z930-10T done as well as its big brother: 4 h 30 min as average. What time enjoy a movie with a Paris-Grenoble and still have battery to read emails and work on arrival.
A well-oiled machine
Toshiba has focused on performance components, which could almost be described as standard in the market for ultrabooks. The Intel Core i5-3317U and its two cores clocked at 1.7 GHz are supported by 6 GB of DDR3. For surfing, office or watch movies stored on the 128 GB SSD machine, it is enough. As usual, the management of the display (1366 by 768 dots) is assigned to the controller Intel HD Graphics 4000 graphics processor. If it is really not comfortable in games with complex 3D scenes, it does the trick for playing Solitaire to Bejeweled to emulators games console or in Farmville, for example. Good point the ventilation is very discreet when working (32.5 dB). It is, however, soon hear if you apply strong components (almost 40 dB measured). Under these conditions, the mercury rises to 43.2 ° C in the machine, but stops at 29.4 ° C on the palm rests.
The screen
Unfortunately, the Toshiba Portege Z930 10T suffers from the same disease that its eldest little screen contrast (501:1). The latter is, however, slightly less bright on this version (276 cd/m2 317 cd/m2 against). For office or surfing, it is a marginal defect. But for photo editing or watching a movie in high definition, this is a little more disabling.
The verdict
Toshiba Portege Z930 10T is a good ultrabook, given its price. With autonomy and a level of performance quite satisfactory, it will appeal nomads in search of reliable equipment. Too bad the screen is not more mixed!
