Autodesk, the giant California dedicated to professional CAD software, has acquired the company behind the video social network and application Socialcam, also claimed by Google or Zynga.

Autodesk paid $ 60 million in cash in a transaction that has surprised the industry since socialcam is primarily for consumption, personal design and digital entertainment.

SocialCam is the leading application on Facebook with 56 million monthly active users and is one of the most popular video applications on mobile platforms Android IOS and 16 million total downloads since its launch last year.

Autodesk intends to close the deal in a month and do not know whether to keep Socialcam independently or integrated into any of their departments.
